Purdin Koi Lineage
From the very beginning, Purdin Koi Farm has been dedicated to advancing the three cornerstone Go-Sanke varieties: Kohaku, Showa, and Sanke. Each of these varieties carries multiple lines that we have carefully developed and refined over the years, ensuring that the koi we produce reflect the artistry and strength of their quality.
Breeding at this level requires intention and patience. When choosing our pairs, we carefully study every aspect of the female and males—their body structure, the thickness and quality of their skin, the depth and consistency of their colors, and the strength of their genetics. Each pairing begins with a clear vision, a set of goals we want to achieve.
Kohaku
Our Kohaku program is anchored by two distinguished lines. One line is celebrated for its strong and large pectorals, strong frame, and the ability to produce great growers, many of her offspring reaching 80cm or more. While Rikidozan contributes bold body conformation with robust and large shoulders that produces a powerful frame. Often creating consistently beautiful patterns that hug the sashi. Together, these lines consistently enhance the genetic foundation of our Kohaku, yielding offspring that demonstrate measurable advancements beyond that of the parent generation.
Showa
Within Showa, we work with three distinctive lines. One line emphasizes lacquer sumi developing early with refinement in years 3 to 4. The other line carries the lacquer and kage style sumi with a large frame for a body. Showa in this line refine within years 5 to 7. The third line offers a smaller but long, elegant body with a shadow, lace-like kage sumi that will stay strong for years.
Sanke
Among our Sanke lines, we are pushing and advancing our koi with incredible shirogi, lacquer sumi, deep skin quality on an overall long bodied-frame.
