I have listed the males with photographs. I did this for several reasons. You the buyer might like a certain male and want those characteristics. For example, Diamond, a male Showa Sanke, has a distinctive hi. Occasionally, this comes across in the offspring. And there are many of us who want to see the connections between genetic inheritance. A characteristic may appear later that reminds you of the male. I hope this adds to the richness of your koi viewing.

A Few of Our Sanke Males

Dom (Dah old man): Dom's been around a long time. What a breeder. We probably count on him too much. But he always delivers beautiful fry. But Dom's a big guy - over 65cm and what a white!

Maury (Maru): PKF 94. Maury may be the best fish yet to be born in the U.S. The white is thick. The hi is gorgeous. He's been a fabulous male since the age of two. It was a sight watching him at 30cm spawning an 85cm female. We're very proud of this offspring.

Ziggie (for zigzag): PKF 95. A solid breeder. Perhaps better as a show fish. He has the pattern that makes for show winners. But his hi has to finish. He's bigger than Maury though younger. We've always considered Maury the better fish but Ziggie keeps getting better and better.

A Kohaku Male

M&M has the body and elegance, as well as the hi and white. He is what I call a baseline kohaku. If you can't produce M&M, then you don't have kohaku. But when I look at M & M, I see great conformation, beautiful pectoral fins, great kiwa. We have many kohaku males but this male is who will create the great Kohakus of our farm.
